University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow was founded in 1451 and is the UK’s fourth oldest university. It is a world-leading research-intensive institution covering the full range of academic disciplines, with annual research income of more than £179m (€197m). The university has more than 8000 staff, including over 3400 research and teaching staff, and around 29000 students representing more than 140 countries. Its historical alumni include the father of economics, Adam Smith, and the physicist Lord Kelvin. It is currently doubling the size of its campus with a planned £1bn (€1.1bn) building programme over the next 10-15 years.
