There are three airports in Crete: Heraklion Airport<\/a> (or \"Kazantzakis\" airport - code: HER) <\/span>Chania Airport<\/a> <\/strong>(or \"Daskalogiannis\" - code: CHQ) and the small <\/span>Sitia Airport<\/a> (code: JSH). All of them are international airports.<\/span><\/p>

Heraklion airport access: <\/strong>There are regular buses between Heraklion airport and Eleftherias square (the centre); tickets should be bought before boarding. A taxi into the town takes 10-15 minutes. Airlines flies to Heraklion: EasyJet, Jet2, Thomas Cook, Ryanair , Tui, British Airways. <\/b> Linked to Athens: Both Ir\u00e1klio and Hani\u00e1 are linked to Athens by 4 to 7 flights daily on Olympic or Aegean<\/b>  <\/strong>Chania airport access:<\/strong> At Chania airport there are only<\/span> <\/strong>a few, infrequent,<\/span> <\/strong>buses - a taxi is the best option if you are not renting a car rental . A taxi into the town takes 20 minutes.<\/span> Charter flights are also available to Crete from most other European countries, France, Holland, Austria, Germany, Switzwerland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Israel and elsewhere<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The passenger can fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus (Pireas).<\/p>

Ferries or catamarans call at  Hani\u00e1 (from Athens), Ir\u00e1klio (from Athens, Cyclades islands and Rhodes). <\/p>

The Piraeus Heraklion ferry route connects Athens with Crete and is currently operated by 2 ferry companies. The Minoan Lines service runs up to 11 times per week with a sailing duration of around 7 hours while the Anek Superfast service runs up to 11 times per week with a duration from 8 hr 45 min.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
