This is reflected in technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT<\/span>), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and cooperative Systems of Systems (SoS<\/span>). These systems are complex, often autonomous and may incorporate AI algorithms including machine learning.<\/p>\n The advent of these technologies can already be seen in a range of application domains including smart grids, smart homes, smart health, intelligent transportation, smart cities and smart farming. These systems harbour a great potential for innovation but, undoubtedly, there are many ethical, economic and related technical issues which should be addressed responsibly. Dependability is prime concern: if such systems fail, they may harm people and lead to the temporary collapse of important infrastructures with catastrophic results for industry and society. Security is particularly important in relation to safety, as the interplay between those is crucial.<\/p>\n The problem of dependability of intelligent systems and SoS<\/span> is largely unsolved. <\/strong>In this special IMBSA session, we therefore aim to bring together new research efforts in this area. Papers that deal with all aspects of dependability of intelligent systems, CPS and CPS-SoS<\/span>, spanning from requirements through design and verification as well as case studies are sought after and most welcome. Research papers, summaries of state-of-the-art efforts in European or national projects and proposals for tutorials and tool demonstrations are highly encouraged. Papers should follow the format of IMBSA (Springer LNCS).
