As someone who had never chaired any conference organizing committee before, I approached my role as Chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco - Europe (SRNT-E) 2025 conference in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with considerable uncertainty about what conference organization would actually entail. Being a faithful member to European Association for Research on Adolescence from 2002 and serving the organisation form different positions, I was aiming to host an EARA Conference in Cyprus. This was an extremely difficult task due to my overloaded program. The 2024 edition of the International Conference on Energy Transition in the Mediterranean Area (SyNERGY MED 2024) brought together 155 delegates hailing from 20 countries, to engage with the pressing global energy challenges chiefly facing the Mediterranean area. This materialised through more than 90 paper presentations across 23 parallel sessions over 3 full days in Limassol, Cyprus – and would not have been possible without the experience, professionalism, and commitment of our valued partner in this endeavour, EasyConferences.

For the past 14 years, I have been organizing an international conference on the Tumor Microenvironment.
